Greg Thorson has served as the Ken and Lynn Hall Endowed Chair of Public Policy at the University of Redlands since 2008. He co-created the Public Policy undergraduate major that launched in 2013 and co-created and co-directs the Master of Public Policy and Administration program.

Professor Thorson earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California at Riverside in 1995. He received his Bachelor's degree from Augsburg College in 1988. He has published in a wide variety of politics and policy journals, including the Journal of Politics, the International Journal of Forecasting, Political Research Quarterly, Congress and the Presidency, World Affairs, and the Journal of Poverty & Public Policy.
